Only part of DD's belly button came out

So, most of DD's belly button came out, but about half is still in there.  Is that normal?

    not sure exactly what you mean. When LO's came off, it wasn't like I thought it would be. The "cord" fell off but he still had a huge scab gross looking thing for a few days, then that fell off too. Now it's almost totally healed...

    That happened with my LO's too.  It took about 10 days or so before the rest fell off.  I was tempted to pick at it or try to wash it away with a washcloth, but I left it alone and it worked out well.

    Yep - you're describing exactly what I'm seeing.  Glad to know it resolves itself!

    Thats what happened to my DD's.  The pedi had to use some stuff to get the rest out.
