Poor little emerson is all congested and has a cough! I feel awful b/c I can't do anything for her other than suck out the snot! She's not too fussy but I can tell she doesn't feel well! It breaks my heart!!

Awww, poor baby!  And poor mommy!!!!  Mine is sick too and it's heartbreaking.  FYI, when we brought LO in to the dr, he said her chest sounded ok (I have upper respiratory infection so we were concerned about her catching it) but he didn't like how "tight" her cough sounded so he checked her oxygen level and it was low.  So now we are doing breathing treatments 4 times a day and she's feeling much better after only 48 hours.  Coughing less and isn't as congested as she was on Thursday.  I'm also doing saline drops and the bulb sucker for her congestion.  If her cough doesn't go away you might want to get her checked out, Dr said RSV is going around this year...

Sorry to hear you lo is sick! Rumor has it saline drops work well to loosen congestion!

Edward is just getting over his cold, the cough is slowly going away. I'm so sorry! Hot showers (for me) with lots of steam (he's brought in after I'm done) really helped clear him out. Make sure to take something to wipe up the snot, because the steam was a miracle worker. Poor DS had huge globs of snot after the first two showers haha

Thanks. I'm waitibg for dh to get out of the shower so I can get her some saline drops and a humidifier. She's not running a fever and I think her cough is from drainage. If she's not better by monday I am taking her in to pedi. I called him on friday and he told me to use saline drops and elevate her when she sleeps!

I am so sorry! My baby is only 4 days old and I pray it will be awhile until she gets sick. I am already getting teared eyed thinking of her in any pain and discomfort.

What are you going to use to elevate her?  The only thing that I've been able to get LO to sleep on since she got sick is her Boppy...she's been sleeping with us so I can hear her breathing and check on her easier throughout the night.  I'm kinda freaked out b/c there is a huge "No Sleeping" tag on the Boppy, but I'm figuring since she's right there between us and only for a few nights, it's ok.

My little one is sick too and I must HIGHLY recommend the Nose Frida snot-sucker.  It is a miracle worker.  The idea of it seems gross, but it's actually totally hygenic and it really does work SO much better than the bulbs and it doesn't piss off the baby nearly as bad either.  I got mine at target.com.
