If you believed in the "end of days" stuff I think you'd be celebrating right now, though, right? Aren't those people totally jazzed to have the world end so they can go be judged and live forever in heaven while the rest of us burn in eternal hell?
The Pacific rim is the most seismically active area on earth- lots of volcanoes and earthquakes. I am surprised that there haven't been more major quakes there, to be honest.
