Trying to Get Pregnant

I need your advice, ladies! Totally confused about early on-set cramping!

HI there,

I'm new to this board and TTC. Husband and I are using a fertility monitor and this is our first attempt (cycle) at TTC. I was High fertility on Day 9 and 10 and Peak on Day 11 and 12. High on Day 13 and back to Low fertility on day 14 and 15 (today). We've TTC every day of my high and peak days.?

Since this morning (Day 15), I've been feeling light cramps, not dissimilar to period cramps. I know about implantation cramps but feel it is to early for that. At the same time, I've never had cramps like this, and at this point in my cycle.

?

Could it be that I'm pregnant and this is actiually some sort of implantation cramps or am I totally off my fertility rocker, here?

?

TIA!?

  • Off your effing rocker. I mean fertility rocker.

  • My guess is ovulation cramping. Perhaps you didn't ovulate when you think you did?

Do you have an electronic version of your chart? If you can't link it, can you PIP?

  • You may be about to O. Lord, you're only on CD15. No, you're not PG yet.

  • Oh man, get ready for the rude comments.  Hope you are PG though.  GL!
  • You will notice many things about your body that you never noticed before just because you are now paying attention.  Obsessing over little things like cramps, peeing a lot, nausea, or whatever will drive you insane because they can mean something or absolutely nothing.  Quit while you're ahead.
  • When you are TTC, you tend to feel more cramps and twinges because you are looking for them.  If the cramps are off to the side, it could be ovulation cramps.  If this is your first cycle with the monitor, I'm not sure how accurate it is (ETA: accurate in predicting ovulation, that is).

  • Def. not implantation cramps.  That does not happen until 7-10 days past ovulation (give or take a day or two.)  I get cramps off on from the time I ovulate until AF arrives.  It doesn't mean anything, I am sorry to tell you.

TTC can be a long process and this is only your first month, so try to be patient.

    GL to you!

This. OP, we all get phantom pregnancy symptoms from time to time, and they're super annoying. I would suggest reading up on conception and how it happens. Your body doesn't start kicking out baby hormones until implantation, which is usually 7-10 days after O. So it's pretty much impossible to be experiencing PG symptoms right now. Best of luck and hang in there!

OP, you start to notice a lot of 'new' things when TTC. Usually it's just your mind playing tricks on you. GL.

  • The first month I used the monitor I had the cramps too. According to my doctor the monitor just made me more aware of what is going on with my body. The doctor said that most women have some cramping around your peak. It is not uncommon. I am currently on the 3rd cycle and still feel the cramps. I hope this helps.....

  • Did you recently stop using BCP by any chance? I noticed that after going off the pill, I had AF-like cramps for the better part of my first few cycles afterwards.

  • Thanks for all the responses and tough love, ladies. I appreciate it. I agree with being hyper-aware of any body rumblings since starting this process.

kbeach82 - I stopped BCP about nine months ago and yes, I went through some pretty intense nausea and cramping right after going off them. I haven't had any of that in months, though. Thanks!

  • Definitely not pregnant. You are only (maybe) 3-4 dpo. The last few months I have been getting random mid-cycle cramps and even spotting once. It happens.
