BF class?

Did you ladies attend a bf class?

If so was it helpful?

I am not sure if I should go or not.

I didn't, but only because there wasn't one available close by.  If I had the chance, I would have gone.  No class can totally prepare you since every baby and every experience is different.  But I'm a fan of having info and learning as much as I can.  So I probably would have enjoyed a class.

On the other hand, since I never went to one and I've made it this far, it's clear that's it's not necessary.  Just would've been nice.

I took a BF class and it was definitely informational.  I had no idea what BF'ing took other sticking baby to your breast.  In the class the showed us the proper latching techniques and different positions to feed baby.  I would definitely recommend taking a BF class.

DH and I did before I had my first and it was super helpful.  It was taught by the LC at the hospital I was delivering at.  She was very informative and friendly.  This made it so much more comfortable when she came in after I delivered to check in and help.  Then when I had supply issues at 3 months I felt more comfortable recontacting her for help.

 I read other breastfeeding books that were helpful but actually attending the class helped to make me feel more confident in my knowledge.

I never took a class but I did read about it/ know about it before hand. I think classes maybe a lot to do depending on your own workload. Personally I have been wanting to head to the local LLL but with the weather we've been getting plus using time off to sleep has been good for me. I do have a very large built in support system of EBF in my family though.

Personally I think if you don't have good support system (BF can be tough in the beginning) classes might be good or going to the LLL meeting to have people to talk with and help through issues.

I went, I didn't really learn a whole lot but it was nice to have more reinforcement.  DH went also and I would recommend that so that he'll have more understanding of how frequently LO will eat.  Also it was he was so helpful in the beginning, helping me get DS positioned correctly.  Be as prepared as you possibly can be, that's my best advice.
