Absolutely Pointless appointment today

So I had my 37 week appointment today. The best thing about it was hearing his heartbeat.... thats it.

Honestly I could have went to walmart, done their little BP/Pulse machine and told them the numbers and not had to drive 45 minutes for that!

The DR I saw just made me feel like a slab of meat! She didnt really care what I had to say.... refused to check me for progression... and just overall bitchy!

*background: I've been having very painful contractions every 8 minutes since noon yesterday... not BHs but real contractions... oh and sunday I was 3cm.*  yet she didnt want to check to see if I had progressed at all. Since Sunday I have also lost my MP and started spotting... she didnt seem to care. She just kept telling me "Call when they are 5 mins. apart" "We won't do an unplanned c/s unless your water breaks."

I wasnt asking her to move up my c/s date I just wanted to know if I am progressing at all. I went really quickly with DS1 so I am worried that this time we have a 45 min drive to the hospital... I'm freaking OUT.

Thanks for listening/reading my frustration. I told the receptionist I didnt want to see her again.

Aw, sorry it was so pointless. Hopefully she is in a better mood before you HAVE to move up the c/s due to labor!

WOW... My midwife is willing to drive 30 minutes to the office do a check and hook me up to the monitor if I feel like I'm contracting. What a b!tch

That sucks...me...I would have probably went straight to the er and told them what was up...they would have had to of kept you...and then called her to come and check you there.  She would have learned her lesson..you would have gotten peace of mind.

I don't know if this helps (and I'm sorry if I'm assuming this is your 2nd pregnancy, since I don't know your history), but my doc told me that for pregnancies #2 and on, they say to call when contractions are 5 -10 minutes apart and uncomfortable, since births after #1 tend to happen faster than #1.

Have you thought about calling after hours and talking to the on-call doc?

I've told them... and they said they won't do anything unless they are under 5 minutes apart.
