I like it. DH shot down Hayden due to the guy (Hayden Fox?) on TV show "Coach" and some other football icon I know nothing about. I think it's super cute and goes well with Lane. Hayden is picking up in popularity if that matters to you.
It's NMS...mostly because of the rhyming long "a" sounds. Also, I knew someone with the last name Hayden growing up so I think of it as a last name and I am not a fan of using last names as first names.
(have it be known, if it was not so damn trendy I would like it)
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I agree with the last name thing. My DHs family had a special friend of the family and his last name was Hayde. Lane is also a family name for DH. I am considering letting him name this baby so that way he has no say so when # 2 comes along
I really, really dislike Hayden and all the other "-ayden" names. They look girly to me when they're spelled with "y" 's in them, and I can't picture them growing well with the child (85-year-olds named Hayden/Jayden/Brayden just don't seem right to me) Then again, I've been told that the names I like are "boring" and "old-fashioned"....I tend to like classic names only.
Hayden is my cousin's name and he was born LONG before this -ayden trend began. Actually, this is the only one of those type of names that I do like. I think it's masculine and awful on a girl. I don't like Lane.
It is a girls name, at least it is now. It is sort of like naming your son Avery-- might have been a boy's name but no longer! That is going to have to be one heck of a tough boy to have a name like Hayden.
I think using two unisex names is not a great idea. We have a DD named Hayden. I like Hayden for either a boy or girl but my DH wouldn't even consider Hayden for a boy.
Xander, Hayden & Lily 5 1/2 and Jericho 3 My Blog!
That's refreshing! So much better than "keep your negative opinions to yourself! I only want to hear that everyone loves it!" LOL
And, since you asked... I'm not a fan of Hayden, or any of the -aden/-ayden names, and Lane sounds really girlie to me. In fact, the whole name sounds pretty girlie (a friend just named her baby Haiden so I always associate it with a girl now).
Re: ok just tell me your thoughts
Aiden Hayden Jayden Caden.... ecckkk enough already.

Lane doesn't bother me.

I sort of agree. I like the name Hayden; it is a unisex name, but the combination of Hayden Lane definitely makes me think it's a girl name.
Major GAG to Hayden. Why go there? Most annoying name trend, ever.
Lane is good.

-Hayden Lane could very, very easily be a girl's name
-Hayden is just way too played out to sound original, and too new to sound classic
-Hayden will have multiple classmates with rhyming names: Caden, Aiden, Brayden, Jayden, Leyden ect... Too much, wayyyy too much
Get off the bandwagon! Lol!
I like Harlan, Harrison, Holden, Houston, or Hunter as alternate suggestions
