Middle names feel personal

My parents gave me a first & middle name they intended to be used together, but it never stuck. As a result, only my family and now DH call me by both my first and middle names. It makes it feel like my middle name is more personal that way and I feel weird when I hear a stranger read my full name off of a form or something.

Similarly, the mn we picked for DD was for super personal reasons and I usually feel weird telling it to people I don't know very well. I don't even usually post it on this board!
