I am planning on working as long as I can so I can maximize the time I have off after the little ones arrive- I hope I can continue to work up until I deliver. Is that crazy? Anyone else do this? FWIW- I'd be sitting for most of the day.
It all depends on how things go with your pregnancy. I worked until about 33 weeks, then was allowed to work from home for about a week and half because my dr didn't want me driving anymore.
I have a sit down desk job and today was my last day.... it was seriously uncomfortable and this last week I had way more BH just from sitting. Its possible, but it wasn't in my case and I've had a "perfect" pregnancy so far (knock on wood)
I worked until I went into labor the first time around (singleton). There is NO way I could work right now. I am way to tired and uncomfortable. Unless, I had a job that I could get done laying on the couch there is no possible way. Carrying twins is so much harder on your body.

Not me, and I have a desk job. I really thought I'd work until at least 34 weeks or so - I love my job and it's really flexible so I could leave a little early, come in a little late, etc. as needed. I have had a very good pregnancy, no bloating, cervix was good, no GD or BP issues, etc.
At around 27 weeks I started having a lot of BH contractions, needed to take it easy a little more. By 30 weeks or so, I was physically SO tired. I was measuring 38 weeks (if a singleton pregnancy) at about 30 weeks, so it makes sense. Plus my cervix was on the short side of normal at my 28 week appt, so I think being upright as much as I was (even in a chair) took its toll on my cervix.
I can't tell you how tired you get. When I walk around for a couple minute, I get VERY winded and it takes a long time to recover. The fatigue and discomfort makes it hard to concentrate at work. My doctor told me if I wanted, it was time to take off - I gratefully accepted. I'm finishing tomorrow (worked from home this week) and am on mat leave as of Monday, just before I'm 33 weeks.
I guess I'd say to play it by ear. You can't plan how you'll feel or how your body will take a multiples pregnancy. But if you start showing any signs that it's too much you need to take it ask or risk going pre-term.
I work on the computer all day. I started working from home 1 day a week at 31 weeks and was at work at 34w4d when my doctor called and said they were going to induce that night due to pre-e. If I hadn't developed pre-e, I planned to work to 37w.
That being said, my cervix was still 4cm at 34w, I wasn't having very many contractions and I was being closely monitored.
I worked up until 36w5d and I am being induced at 38w2d. My husband started driving me to work around week 32 because the walk from the parking garage to my office was too much for me. I have mostly a desk job but even walking to the bathroom became a problem. My hips just couldn't take the constant sitting anymore and just getting up and out of my chair to walk to the printer or copy machine became too painful. It all depends on your pregnancy though. My doctor was shocked that I made it as far as I did and worked as long as I did so it all depends on you handle it and how much your body can take.
My sister is almost 36 weeks with twins and she is still working full time. Plus, she is on her feet a lot of the day! i am hoping to push through like her for the same reason as you - I want as much time off after the babies are born as possible!
I was induced on a Thursday, my last day was the Friday before. Its possible but in all honesty, I was pretty worn out and tired by that time (37 weeks 2 days)

I literally worked right up until my delivery (I stopped about 2 hours before). But I had a great work situation where I was able to telecommute. I worked from my hospital bed for 5 weeks! Not exactly what you were looking for, I'm guessing
I have a desk job also, but my doctor is pulling me out of work at 29 weeks, and at the LATEST 32 weeks. I've had no complications, but she wants me out and feet up, taking it easy the last several weeks.
I was pretty shocked when she told me this last week- I suggest you ask your doctor what he/she is thinking.
I too plan on working as long as I can to maximize my time with the boys. But I do agree that it depends on your body and how you are handling your pregnancy. I've reduced my workload to make sure that I am not up on my feet as much so I think that will help tremendously. I'm also trying to cut down my hourse from 12 hours/day to 8hours/day. All you can do is try to take it easy as much as you can but trust your body if you feel uncomfortable. I'll let you know how it goes for me .
you can have that as a goal, but absolutely no way you can know what your body will do. take good care of yourself and that's about all you have control over.
I worked (I teach 4th grade) until 36 weeks and delivered at 38. I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy, though. Good luck getting in as much time as you can!
