starting a feeding schedule....?

how soon is too soon?  My dr. though we were trying to make order out of chaos to start now, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot either.  TIA!!!

Re: starting a feeding schedule....?

  • mine were on a schedule from day one... the nurses in the hospital started it- we kept it going... a flexible routine of feeding every 3 hours.  We followed Baby Wise and it worked great - babies STTN at 8w, were great eaters, great sleepers, and all around happy.

  • We tried to follow EASY from the start. It took a while for them to get into the rhythm but I do think it helped.

this exactly for us too. and everyone says how happy and calm the boys are. babywise rocks my world.

  • We've been on EASY from the start. The LC/nurses had us feeding every 3 hours for the first week and we just continued that at home.  Now we feed every 3 hours during day, cluster feed at 7 & 9, dreamfeed at 11, and they only wake once during night until 5AM! Hopefully they will STTN soon!
