Boogie Wipes. Waste of money?

I've never bought them b/c I just assume they are the same as baby wipes.  Are they any different?  Did the baby industry just realize, again, that we're suckers and will buy anything?

Educate me.

Re: Boogie Wipes. Waste of money?

  • There was a thread on here a day or two ago where at least a dozen posters were RAVING about them. I haven't gotten them for the exact reason you said, but I might have to cave.
  • Loading the player...
  • We LOVE LOVE LOVE our Grape scented boogie wipes in this house!  DD only lets me use those on her nose bc they smell delish!  They are moistened with saline so they dissolve boogies on the skin and make the boogies up the nose come out...
  • i like them b/c they are more compact than carrying a pack of wipes in my purse.  But, other than being smaller, there is really no difference between boogie wipes and reg wipes.
  • They're different than baby wipes - they're just saline cloths .

    I think they're a gimmick - I'm a big fan of the spit and a tissue method!

  • My SIL loves them and raves about them.  I am too cheap to buy them :)

  • We LOVE them. Where regular wipes leave crusties, the saline dissolves that stuff and makes it easy to wipe away. I thought waste before, now I think brilliant!
  • We love Boogie Wipes...they really help get the gunk out.  Much more gentle than baby wipes.
  • I bought them but they have some pretty gross ingredients in them. Its probably better to just use a soft rag like the flour sack rags and get them wet.
  • oh, and I can see (as another poster said) that maybe they help to pull out the stubborn the booger.  While the underlying cloth on a wipe is more like think, soft paper towel, the underlying cloth on a BW is kind of like a dryer sheet.  I don't know if that's a very good description....

I buy them in bulk at Sam's.

  • I just bought them last night and I don't see the big deal either.  Charlie gets pissed at me whether it's a boogie wipe, or a kleenex.

But don't you have to carry the wipes anyway?  Carrying a second pack of wipe-like  tissues seems superfluous.

Me too. I think they work a lot better than wipes, personally.

Please tell me you're kidding about spitting in a tissue. Ick!

I use baby wipes. Not sure what a boogie wipe is.

  • We LOVE them. I still do most of his nose wiping with tissues (got him the lotion kind), but the Boogie Wipes are great for when he wakes up from a nap with the crusties.
  • DD loves them, so I do, too. She won't let me anywhere near her with saline spray, but will use a boogie wipe herself on her nose (or let me use it). Regular wipes don't have saline on them and I guess the soap or whatever on them doesn't feel as good inside DD's nose because she doesn't like wiping her nose with regular wipes.

  • Lol, one of my BF's friends developed that product...embarassing to say but I havent bought them BUT I think there is saline in them and they dont have alcohol and all my girlfriends love them. I have a huge bag of the trial size in the changing area, I should probably break em out

  • I love them and so does DD. She actually allows me to clean her nose now, they are really soft on the skin (softer than regular wipes) they seem to work better.
  • I either use a baby wipe if we are on the go or.....

    A BABY FACECLOTH WITH WATER!!!

    I know the horrors!

I only carry wipes in the diaper bag (which I usually just keep in the car in case of a diaper change).  I carry BW's in my purse everywhere.

  • I thought they were a ripoff too, until DD got a cold just before we were going on vacation and I thought they might be good to have on the go and gentler on DD's face than a Kleenex. They are really nice. The saline does seem to help, and they are nice and gentle on her skin. I only use them for colds, and I don't use regular baby wipes on her face. They're too harsh on her skin.

  • My mom bought me a pack and I thought she was nuts.  Maybe I should go look for them and give them a try.  LOL!!

...since nobody here was smart enough to figure that out, thanks for this brilliant idea. Oh wait! I tried that. Didn't work. These work better.

  • I think they probably are a waste of money, but we bought them from Sam's and DD loves them and doesn't mind if I try to wipe her nose with them so for that reason alone I will keep buying them. They do seem to get the crusties better than anything else though.
  • One of the best things I have found in a LOOONG time!

  • Most amazing thing ever! Only thing that doesn't make DD scream when getting her nose wiped.
