f/u: in labor and delivery...

so yeterday i was having contractions all day, they finally go too bad to walk through and they were right about 5i1i1 and so we came in. they almost sent me home but i was about 4 cm and it was 3 am at least and im already week overdue so they decided to start my on pit at 6 am. im not making much process. just waiting... but ive got my epi in and my water was brokenn so its gonna happen today1 is there anything youve been told canhelp progress after the epi

    I was induced at 39 weeks and 1 day. I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced when I went in to start the process. They started me on the pit drop at 7am, broke my water at 8am, Epi at 9am, and at 3pm I was 10cm dilated. Baby was born at 3:58pm.

    As far as I know once you get the pit there really is not much you can do, you cant walk around etc..

    Well, you can't walk around...sort of have to lay there let nature take it's course.  Remember...if things stall out and the Dr. starts talking "Vacuum" make sure you have your Epi. turned back up because it's not fun and hurts like hell.  I didn't read up on vacuuming, I was caught off guard by it and then tore up and down and felt EVERYTHING.  Also, after you have the baby and they take out the Epi.  I recommend you have some sort of anti-itch lotion.  Side affects of an epi. can make your torso and arms itch like crazy.  I felt like I had bugs crawling all over me.  If you could have someone run and get some, you'll be very thankful.
