DS - refusing bottles, won't use sippy cup what now?

DS2 is about to turn 1, he is only taking about 12-15 oz of formula a day but refuses to drink out of a sippy cup.  I am worried he's not getting enough fluids.  He eats great, so I am not concerned about transitioning to whole milk and water, but he seem kind of over the bottle.  I have tried a couple different types of sippies - nuby soft spout, Tommy Tippee, Platex.  Any words of wisdom.

  • What about the cups with straws?

  • DD is doing this too - her day care teachers say it is teething related and to ride it out, which sucks.  But we did move her to a straw and that helps a lot.  Have you tried that yet?

  • My DCP tried the straw with him, she said it didn't go over well, that was a few weeks ago, maybe I'll have her try again.  Thanks
  • I could have written this post about 3 weeks ago. All of a sudden DS refused all bottles and didn't drink a whole lot from sippys, and at that, refused any milk out of sippy, only would drink water or juice from them.

I discovered that he preferred the straw sippys over the regular ones. Maybe try this, but other than that, just keep offering it. He gradually drank more. He now will drink a lot of juice and water, but we are still working on the milk. We are trying the ovaltine, kefir and just making sure he gets a lot of yogurt and cheese.
