Good afternoon ladies. So here is my situation. I have been so tired for a couple of weeks now. I am not sure what to do to keep myself going. I am at the point I want to cry I am so tired. I have been going to bed earlier and earlier. Waking up later and later (Thank God my job is flexible). I typically can't sleep a night through. (I usually wake up around 4:00 every night - no matter what time I go to bed) but lately I have been waking up a few times a night. A few years back a doctor did a bunch of tests and said that I had chronic fatigue syndrome. (Other than that all my tests were fine) I am not sure if I really believe in that because a lot of things I read said that it really isn't anything and I don't know anyone who has it to talk to. Anways about 3 months after hearing this from the doctor I felt better anyways until now. So here I am now. Half asleep. So I guess this post is just a vent but if anyone has any ideas to help keep my energy up, I would love to hear it. I am thinking I can't take a sleeping pill to help me sleep through the night while TTC and as I mentioned before not sleeping through the night has always been a problem. I eat a fairly healthy diet but maybe someone has some thoughts on different foods that may help my energy level. Thoughts or support are welcome. Thanks!

I don't have any input other than when I opened this post and read the first few sentences, I figured it was a post fishing for a "you're pregnant". Hope you start sleeping better!

I don't take one single minute for granted.

Oops. I guess I should have phrased it different. I haven't even ovulated this month so no fishing.

My SIL has chronic fatigue and was actually put on an antidepressant by her doctor. She was telling me that they've done studies that the inbalance in the brain that causes depression is very similar to chronic fatigue. He also suggested a special diet (basically higher lean protein and whole grains, no refined sugar, no artificial sweeteners, caffeine or alcohol).
She said it's working well for her. Maybe something to ask your doctor about.

I take Benadryl when I'm having trouble sleeping. It's the exact same drug as Unisom, and it's safe during pregnancy.
Good to know. I should try that.
Didn't know this either but I've been struggling with sleep lately to. I keep waking up at 4 am EVERY night. Doesn't matter when i go to sleep. I'll try Benadryl now though.

That is funny that we both wake up at 4. What is up with 4:00?

Huh. Now I am questioning my doctor. When I went through the tests, he tested me for mono even though I didn't have any symptoms. I had it in the past. Apparently, it showed that I still had mono (15 years later). Seemed strange to me. I eat a lot of protein and vegetables but not good on the whole grains. I have cut down on caffeine and don't drink much and I stopped artificial sweeteners. Maybe it is time to talk to another doctor.

It sounds like a new doc is in order! I'm not a doctor, so it could be chronic fatigue, but seep disturbances are often related to depression. Not getting enough sleep exacerbates depression, too. A new doc could figure that out for you. In the meantime, get some sleep! The other ladies are right that TTC is not the same as pg. Benadryl and Unisom are good ways to fall asleep and stay asleep. FYI fish oil is great for depression and also good for developing fetuses. :-) I hope you get some rest!
Re: Tired :( Long story
I dont' get this. Why can't you take a sleeping pill while TTC?

I just assumed you couldn't. But you know that saying about assuming. Is it safe?

Vitamin B complex supplement is my recommendation. It helps with fatigue.
Very true but I was thinking if it is something I need to keep doing for awhile and then I hit the 2ww mark. Maybe I am overthinking it.

Have you ever had your thyroid checked?

I did. Everything was fine.
That's a good thought too.
Do you have any other symptoms of depression? The sleep that you are describing sounds a lot like someone who is depressed.

Your DS is so cute! I don't seem to have any other symptoms just sleeping and fatigue.
