If your DH is on the computer (all.the.time) and laughs or chuckles to himself, and when you ask "what's funny" he almost always says "nothing" (and refuses to ever tell you, even when you ask again) - would this bug you? Would it be a bigger deal to you if your DH was not normally a "chuckle/laugh" kinda guy (so the laughing seems even more out of character?)
I know I've become hypersensitive to this issue, but it bugs me to be sitting in a room with DH and to have him chuckling to himself, but when asked, not sharing with me what's making him laugh. It just seems like common social courtesy to me to share the "funny" thing when asked about them. No, I'm not worried about 'another woman' - it's more the "not interacting with the person in the room with you, but having more fun with the damn electronic equipment" issue.
And yes, gibs, I married the guy. I know, I know.
Re: NPR: Would this bug you?
Sadly, yes I have told him it bothers me... and his response is I'm being ridiculous, and what he's laughing is "isn't worth explaining" - well, DH, you're actually wasting more time defending not telling me, rather than just sharing the "silly" thing and moving on. Sigh... (and yes, gibs, I know....)
