I purchased the adhesive that was recommended on Craft Cuts. They claim it won't damage the paint. Well, when we moved and I took them off the wall, not only did it damage the paint, it tore big chunks out of the sheet rock. So before I rehang DD's name letters at the new house, I need to find something else to use. They are not thick enough to drill holes and hang with ribbon, so that's out. Any suggestions?
Re: How did you attach your wooden letters to the wall?
I so looked at house when we were shopping where that had happened!
What about using glue to attach the ribbon?
We used old fashioned "blu-tack" (but it's white?) to hang Abby's letters. They're still up after 2 years. They were up for a year at our old house and didn't remove the wall
ours had little crevices in the back so dh just hung them with nails.
maybe you could put up a ledge and have them stand on the ledge?
Does it come off the wall without ripping big chunks out? Where can you buy it?
Our letters have little nail holes in the back of them.
I like Taytee's idea of using glue to attach ribbon to the letters.
Did you buy it somewhere locally?

My little ballerina - thanks Life in Motion Photography!
You can buy it at Home Depot, Lowe's etc. It never removed paint or anything at PBK but just make sure you use very small squares because a little bit goes a long way. It truly is industrial strength.
I have to say if those strips that Libby recommended are anything like the 3M hooks, then that would be the route I would go.
Yep, they're just like 3M hooks but with velcro-like material instead of hooks. (It's not actually velcro, but I'm not sure what to call it)
We did this as well since the letters weren't thick enough for a nail. Here's a picture of how they look:
