EBF and early return of AF?

I dunno what is going on really...

i got that mirena thing in january..so it shouldn't be from that, but i have had light spotting on and off the last few days..and today it was a little bit more, enough to wear a pad, and i had some light cramping.

Audrey is totally EBF, no bottles at all, no solids yet at all, and she nurses ALL. THE. TIME.

do you think its AF already? maybe the mirena brought it on early? weird breakthrough bleeding?

i think my supply might suck tonight, either that or she was just REALLY fussy from teething, but she woke up 20 minutes after going down, and was totally inconsolable with me trying to nurse her, it took about 30 minutes to calm her down and get her to nurse long enough for let down to get something, and she went back to sleep..

im drinking a beer now to "help my supply" haha..not to wind myself down from the half hour of banshee howling

I had breakthrough bleeding from 6 weeks postpartum even though I EBF.  BUT I had just started the mini-pill so that might be why.  I'm sorry, that really sucks!

I was a EPer, and my 1st AF was around 5.5 months PP.  I was surprised it came that early too.  

My supply always drops during AF, but picks back up to normal after she's left town again.

I got my period at 16 weeks pp.  It's been light but it still sucks.  Especially since it is clearly not indicative of any fertility.

Hope yours is just breakthrough bleeding.

ugh, i am so sorry if it is your period.  i EBF my daughter and i got my first period 4 months pp.  i was shocked.  

for me, my supply would go down a bit the day before and the first day of my period and then it would bounce back.

thanks ladies! who knows..i just hope it stops soon, and my supply is okay. the last thing i need for a little gal that likes to comfort suck all might long is for her to actually be hungry on top of that!! haha

Maybe it is just the Mirena. My OB told me that I could expect weird bleeding the first few months.

I got my first pp AF at 5 months pp, so...   that could be it.

I've had regular AF since 6 weeks pp - Henry has always nursed 8+ times a day and I can literally count on 2 hands how many bottles he's had in almost 9 months.  Plus I pump every day.

wow, this is crazy..i looked at kellymom, and it said only 7% of EBF'ers get AF before 6 months pp! but quite a few of us have..interesting

I got mine when Penny was four months old and I was at the hospital with my Mom so she was only getting my pumped milk and then the occasional bottle of formula.  I was trying to keep up my supply by pumping but it did go down some.  I don't know if my period was breakthrough bleeding due to the stress and not breastfeeding as often or what...but I haven't had another one and it should have been here last week I think.
