Poll: Kids bedding... Please help me!

I just got the girls beds put up last week.  I still cant decide on bedding though.  Kay likes pink and Kennedy likes purple.  I was first looking for a set that has equal pink and purple in it.  Hardly any such luck without spending $100+ on each set.

So I found the Happy Flower set on Target dot com and it comes in pink and purple.  We went to look at it in person to see if its just as cute as it is online. (it is)  But the girls saw the Princess (pink of course for Kay) and Tinkerbell (purple for Kennedy) and went NUTS.  I mean screaming and yelling because they were so excited to see their color and character.

They liked the Happy Flower sets until they saw the character bedding.

  • Frankly, I HATE character bedding (and I will buy the occasional character clothing). It just looks so cheap. I voted for the other one. They will be fine without the character bedding and their room will be MUCH cuter, IMO. Wink

ditto this. Get them the other bedding and maybe a pillow or pillow case with Tinkerbell/Princess. :)

  • I have the Happy flower bedding and I LOVE it.

I am so not a fan of character bedding but if it makes them that happy, I may give in. Although I love the pillow idea much better!

  • I also hate character bedding.  Also I think they outgrow the character too quickly in a lot of cases and I don't want to be changing their bedding set that frequently (esp if it's still in great shape).  I would get them a character accessory to go with their happy flower bedding, that way when they are sick of the princess or tinkerbell stuff you still have bedding that works.

Good idea!  They already have a Tinkerbell blanket each.  Dh bought them and they only had Tinkerbell.  I was at Walmart yesterday looking at the character bedding and saw they have the Princess one.  Maybe that, a night light and a pillow would be enough character stuff.   Oh and they each have a pillow my mom bought them for Vday.  Its the fleece one you tie together like the blankets.

Hmmm.  Think I have found a solution!  Yay!  Now I need a target coupon code.  Anyone have one?  Im only going to order the purple one online.   I can go to target tomorrow and buy the pink one after work.

  • I'm with Marce on this - I hate character bedding! I rarely even buy shirts - my mom does it so she doesn't go without. My DD's room looks very pretty and very girly. I am  not sure if ours is the happy flower one but we got her set there - it's adorable and has held up great!

awesome! glad it works for you-- it's all about compromise. :) LOL

  • I, personally, avoid character bedding because kids grow out of characters fast... they change constantly. Something like bedding with flowers you could easily use until their preteen years.

  • Another anti-character bedding person here. I think the Happy Flowers might last longer too. Kids tend to switch characters so often. I've seen the Happy Flowers too and I think the line is super cute.
