What would you do?

My sister is having a shower for me where I currently live at the end of March.  She's needing to get the invitations ordered so I asked my step-mom if there was anyone from my hometown she thought I should invite.  She then told me she thought a friend of hers (who is like family to me) was planning on doing a shower and she would find out.  This was Monday morning and yesterday she said she hadn't talked to her but would last night.  I hate to follow up on this again, but I really need to get a number of guests to invite to my sister.  Should I ask my step-mom again, or just wait another day?

    Call her by Friday or Saturday for sure.

    My first shower is March 27th and the invitations are going out this Saturday.

    I guess I should have waited 30 minutes to post this.  She just emailed me and told me her sister wants to do a shower for me.

    Um, I would persist.  If you do it the last weekend of March, that only gives sister a week and a half to order them and have them ready to mail before they need to be out.  I would say, "Did you talk to so and so?  I hate to be a best, but I'm under a time crunch for the guest list."  If she says no, "Okay, then I'll plan to have her at the shower sister is throwing!"

    I would ask her again. I've been in the same situation with DH's step mom. As soon as I knew about the shower I immediately asked her if there was anybody she wanted to invite. I gave her 4 wks notice from when my hostess wanted the guest list. So, the day approached and she said she hadn't had time to think about. I told her I could wait one more week (which was this past Sun.) and still no list. How hard is it to decide if you want to invite anybody?

    Sorry, I started rambling and venting about my situation.

    Back to you...I would call her again and just let her know that your hostess needs to know....she needs to get started on YOUR shower. I hope that you are able to get your names and numbers very soon.
