Is Alexis becoming too ridiculously popular? I usually like more unique names, but DH and I keep coming back to this one.

I love the name. I am a librarian and I see at least 100 kids a day. I don't know any little ones named Alexis.

I don't really like it. It does seem very popular on this board, but I don't personally know anyone with that name.

It's my older brother's name. I have a hard time accepting it as a girl's name, although I know that's how it is used in English.

It is very popular but IMO if you like the name use it. I've like the name Lauren Grace for years, and now Grace has become super popular (and Lauren is pretty popular as well) but I'm still using it (hopefully someday if I get pregnant with a girl, that is).

I'm biased b/c I have a dear friend named Alexis, so obviously it gets a Yes

from me. As for the popularity, I haven't noticed a particular uptick in this particular name, but I haven't been paying any attention to girls names, sooo...yeah. Not much help from me. FWIW, it's a beautiful name.

2 friends both named their daughters Alexis recently. Maybe it's regional.
