Prior to charting I had been keeping track of my cycle length I always write down what day I started, and what days I spotted on. My cycles have been pretty regular with 30-34 day cycles, and 32 most frequently.
On FF it says that a LP should be 10-16 days. As many of you have seen, my chart this month has been 'iffy' at best and today's temp makes me think more than ever that I did not O.Currently I am on CD 24 and if I have a 34 day cycle which is my longest cycle I have had, that leaves me with a 10 day LP. I did take some b6 for 2.5 weeks this month, but then I read in a post that it can cause nerve damage so i stopped taking it, till I knew more about it.
How many of you have a shorter LP? And is it a consistent thing for you or do you O at different times every month giving you a different LP length from month to month?
Re: Prior to charting...
I don't have any advice to offer, but am interested to see what the other ladies have to say.
I feel your pain though! FF moved my CHs 4 times before removing them completely this a.m. Hopefully we will both O very soon! Keeping my fingers crossed. :-)
I have "always" had short LPs (and by that I mean that as long as I have charted, my LPs have been short). I started charting in 2007 to avoid pregnancy and my LPs ranged from 8-10 days. I usually O'd around CD17-20 and then I still had about 28 day cycles.
I did take some B vitamins (b6 and b complex) before we started TTC, and the cycle we TTC my O was on CD13 and I got a BFP at 11dpo.
I charted off and on after DS was born and discovered that my LPs were super short- about 6-8 days. I even took B6 and Bcomplex again for a couple of months and saw no improvement, so I discontinued it. I was never convinced that the B vitamins were responsible for my earlier O & BFP... it had felt like a fluke to me. I also had a Paragard IUD in after DS was born, and I always suspected that it was making my LPs shorter, but I don't know that for sure yet.
So... this is my first cycle charting again to TTC and I'm on 7dpo. Of course I want a BFP, but if not, I'm hoping for at least a 9-10 day LP. I feel confident that a 9/10 day LP is long enough for implantation to occur for me, because I was able to conceive my son.
Hope that helps some! I do agree with PP that said that you'll just have to wait and see what happens with the rest of this cycle. As you know, your O can occur any time in your cycle, but the LP will normally stay about the same.

::points to siggy:: my LP and O dates seem to be all over the place. I am holding out hope for my OPKs this month because i have no idea when i am going to O.
Sorry about your aggravation!! I attribute mine to still adjusting from getting off the pill in July. Hopefully it evens out some time soon!
I'm also interested in seeing responses to this. I really only scribbled down periods on my calendar in the past, sort of like you. Now that I'm into charting, I was alarmed to see a 7 day LP last month. (I'm not sure if that's what will be typical for me yet because I'm still learning my cycle.) In your case though I think your LP will be the same length no matter how "late" into your cycle you O -- at least from what I understand. Good question, and as always, GL!
