"Go home and poop!"

Thats what the dr. told me yesterday at L&D... Apparently I was SO constipated that it was putting me into labor... so his orders were to go home and take an Enema.... *JOY* and then a stool softener till delivery(and after)

Let me just say giving yourself an enema is a very....interesting experience.

So far today-no pain, no contractions, and I feel better... but I still have to do another one tonight(per dr. orders)

Oh dear. SOunds unpleasant.

But it does prove that pooping won't push the baby out, but not pooping might..

i have to have a cup of coffee about every other day or it's bad news.

I know it's personal but I am being induced on Friday and with DD I pooped a TON when I was in labor and it was pretty humiliating. I asked the doctor if there was something I could do or not do so that doesn't happen again and she said "absolutely, tell the nurses when you arrive on Friday that you want to do an enema, you can do it yourself or have them help you" Well I definately want to do it but I am a little nervous/scared. Is it hard to do? And does it hurt?

Note to self: when over due and can't take it anymore eat a lot of dairy(that's what always plugs me up), to become extremly constipated to put me in to labor! lol

It was uncomfortable, but didnt hurt. I did it myself and it did it's magic in under 2 minutes. I just picked one up at walmart. You could probably do it at home before you go in.
