  • pedi told us straight up vaseline at night
  • Loading the player...
  • Desitin thick overnight works usually. If it is yeast we apply lotramin af first.
  • Pinxav hands down.  CVS keeps it behind the pharmacy counter so you have to ask.
  • Maalox and vasaline mix
  • lotramin

  • I agree with Lotrimin.  But you can get a prescription for poop goop.  You could also make it yourself, but it's hard.  Our pharmacists have to spend a lot of time on it when they make it, so it's a lot of work and it's always nice to have someone else do that if you can.

I would definitely not apply straight up maalox.  Although poop goop has maalox in it, it has other things (vaseline and a few other things).

I have the recipe somewhere and could find it if you would like.

  • Mix equal parts Maalox, Desitin Creamy (maximum strength), and A+D ointment.  Apply like you are frosting a cake. It is what we have sworn by for every diaper rash (which she gets one every time she cuts a tooth)

I recommend using a throw away container when you mix it and a plastic spoon because it takes a lot of work to clean them later.
