Beat some eggs (or just the whites) with a splash of vanilla. Dip bread slices in it. Fry in butter. Serve with warm maple syrup (the real stuff) and butter. Add a dusting of powdered sugar to be fancy.
I melt 1/3 cup vanilla icecream in microwave (to use instead of milk) Then sprinkle in cinnamon and nutmeg and add to eggs, whisk it all together. I put bread slices in a cake pan and pour mixture over. This lets it really soak in and then I transfer two slices a time to pan to cook
I mix Eggbeaters and either skim or soy milk, a pinch of salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Then I dip the bread on both sides, put into frying pan w/a little butter, sprinkle w/wheat germ and additional cinnamon.
Then when I flip them, I sprinkle the opposite side w/raw (cane) sugar, so they're sweet without needing a ton of maple syrup. DD loooves French toast this way!
