Anybody ever taken a road trip with their 2-3 month-old babies?
We've been invited to a wedding in Maine in early October. I'm due in mid-August. We live in the midwest. It would be a heck of a drive, but we'd plan to stretch it out over several days and visit folks at stops along the way.
Would this be totally nuts? These are dear, dear friends and we'd really like to go. But if it'll make us and our babies miserable, I'll probably stay home and send my H off to attend on his own.
Flying is an option, but it seems more chaotic to me and I hate the idea of all those germs at that age.
Re: Travel with 2-3 month old infants?
i totally think it's doable!! we drove 12.5 hrs one way w/ the girls when they were 1.5 mo. old and they did great. we stopped one night at a hotel and so i can imagine it being a nice ride for you even more w/ stopping to see family/friends along the way.
we're doing another long road trip next month. we just plan to do feeding/changing/stretching stops every 3 hrs as we found that to work great on our last trip.
IMO, i think it's a good age for your LOs to travel since they prob. will nap a lot of the drive. GL!!

I did a road trip (over 10 hours of driving, divided in two days) when they were 2 months. It was great!!!!!
I did as one girl suggested (atc I think) to stop at hotels to feed the babies. ALl the hotels were so accommodating!.
We brought our pack and play (they shared one at the time), their fan (for white noise) and some of their blankets so they could have their own things/smells. They did very well!.
We just stopped every 3 hours to feed them, let them stretch it out and back in the car!.
