I'm usually on the wagon for Elisabeth names (it's our girls name) but Elsie just isn't doing anything for me. If those nn are set in stone- I'd go with Lily.

I think both names are really popular right now. If you want to go with the least trendy of the two (in terms of staying power/popularity the longest) it would probably have to be Elizabeth. I don't think you'll need to change the "z" to a "s" either and most people would spell her name wrong.

I really like Elizabeth, it fits well with Ayden as well as the last name Laake. She will have to spell her name anyway, because of the unusual spelling of the last name. And Elsie is the cutest nn!

I think if you want to call your DD "Elsie," you should spell it Elisabeth, otherwise it doesn't really make sense.
