My LO sleeps excellent at home. We put him to sleep awake in his crib and he just falls asleep. My problem is...I am sick and my mom was going to watch him overnight last night, but he would not fall asleep. I went and picked him up at 9pm and you could tell he was very tired, but was just fighting it.?
We are going on vacation in March and she is going to watch him for 3 nights. What can I do to help him sleep at her house?? He will be sleeping in a PnP. ?
Re: I need some advice from you ladies.
Jake won't sleep in the PnP without extra padding.
We had this problem when I went to Germany to visit my parents. We finally had to buy padding for a twin bed and cut it down to fit the PnP, fit a sheet around it, and then he would sleep in it.
Maybe try that?
Good idea!?
Ditto pp's idea of sleeping in pnp at home and background noise as well as additional trial run, also:
1. Take the sheet or a blanket and sleep with it for a few nights prior or carry it around with you if you don't have several nights (last time I put on a hoodie and zipped it a little and tucked the blanket in there while I did chores in the house that day) so it smells like you. This is a big comfort & something familiar!
2. Try giving him an attachment object he can take with and use at both places.
3. Have your mom follow the routine you do at home as close as possible (we write it all down in order i.e. 1. Wash face 2. Bottle & burp 3. PJs & diaper 4. etc etc etc down to telling her what we say as we put him in crib. I know for some moms this may sound crazy but LO had such problems learning to sleep alone that the routine has been the life saver.
