I screwed up Disney on Ice for DD

A friend told me to make sure DD dresses up in princess clothes when we go to Disney on Ice this week.  So without thinking, I told DD she could wear a princess gown when I took her to The Palace to see Disney.

"The Palace" is the name of the arena where the Detroit Pistons play.  So she immediately got really excited and told me she's never been to a real palce before and how great it was gong to be.  I've been trying to explain to her that it's not really a palace, it's just called "The Palace."  But she has no concept of what an arena is, so she still thinks we're going to a palace.

When I pull into the parking lot and she sees the arena, it's going to break her little heart.

That is cute.  Just tell her that they built this "palace" for the basketball players and they didn't want it to look too girly.  I've been to a few of the Disney on Ice shows at The Palace.  Your daughter is going to have a good time.

Thanks for the heads up. I will not tell DD the name of the arena when we go or she would be expecting a Palace too.

Are you close enough where you could drive by before and point out the palace so that she understands?
