S names - last name conflict

Baby's last name will start with "Schw", but we'd like to use a first name that starts with S.  Are SH names out of the question?  How bad would an S name be?

Re: S names - last name conflict

  • I think it is fine to use an "S" first name, especially if it is the "s" sound instead of the "sh" sound.  For example, I think Sarah Schwartz sounds fine, but maybe Shawn Schwartz is a little much.

  • Hmmm, not sure on this one. When I try to say Sarah Schwartz the first few times, it comes out Sharah Swartz.
  • I agree with the previous posters.  For example, I think Samantha Schwartz sounds fine but any sh sounding names would probably be too much.

  • I think S names are fine. My step-daughter is Savannah Sh--
