We have narrowed down our names to a list of four - we are choosing when LO is actually born. One of them is Lucas/Lukas.
I'm kind of split but DH likes Lukas, just because it is a little different.
It would be Lucas Arlo St....
Lukas Arlo St....
Opinions? The middle name is staying, since it's a family name. I just wanted to make sure the spelling didn't come across as too you-neek. TIA!
Re: Lucas or Lukas
I thought it was common knowledge that Lukas was the traditional Scandinavian spelling. I say go with Lucas, unless you are Scandinavian and want to honor your heritage.
Lukas is the traditional spelling in Germany as well as most Scandinavian countries, vs the French spelling, Lucas, which we all know is more common in the US. Lukas (as is Markus, Erik, Aleksander, Luka, etc...) is a "real" spelling and every intelligent/educated/reasonably well traveled person I know, knows this.
So, unless he is applying for a job w/ someone who is a judgmental idiot, with little worldly knowledge, I think he'll be OK.
We considered both but ultimately, decided to go with Lucas because [hopefully] he won't have his name misspelled all his life and it's just more common. I do love the Lukas spelling though and if you're of any origin where it is common, go for it!

I've seen it spelled both ways... I don't think spelling it with a K is that out there, personally.
What I was thinking too ...
