NN for Reese?

I know there are a few ladies w/ DD's named Reese.  What are your nicknames for your LO?

Re: NN for Reese?

  • JMO but I think it is hard to shorten a one-syllable name.  If you still want to use a NN, pick something like Lady Bug.  We called our youngest DD "Li'l Bit" because she was so little and it had nothing to do with her name.

  • I've heard Reese as a NN for Therese/Theresa, but don't think you can shorten Reese.

  • Does it need a nickname? It is short enough.

IMO nicknames aren't about brevity.  It's a term of endearment.

Well then it could be anything. I call DS 'Ragamuffin' and it has nothing to do with his real name.

  • If NNs are a term of endearment for you, wouldn't you wait to get to know your DD before coming up with one?

You asked for a NN for Reese. That is comparable to asking for a NN idea for Elizabeth. I'm clearly not the only one who read it that way.

  • How about your little 'buttercup'?

Sorry, I guess I didn't ask a clear question.  Reese, as a single syllable name, is tough to come up with an obvious nickname.  I thought perhaps, the mommies of a Reese might have one that I hadn't thought of. Just as an Elizabeth would lovingly be called "Liz" or "Lizzie", I just thought there might be a nickname for Reese that hadn't occurred to me.  I'm sure if we end up with Reese as a name we'll come up with something unique to her personality.  Just curious what others might have used for their Reese.

  • I have a friend with a Reese.  I call him Reese's Pieces!  His mother doesn't like it but he is so cute.
  • We actually named her Reese so the public couldn't shorten it :)

But at home DH calls her Reesie Reese.  She's also my little Reese's pieces.
