This might be a dumb ? in re:Gender

This is my first so it's all new to me. What position does the baby have to be in to be able to know it's gender? I know that obviously it's leg has to be a bit opened but on some u/s pictures it almost looks like the baby's doing a back flip!

I'm afraid my kid won't be as acrobatic.

My doc had a hard time getting her middle this last time because she was moving around so much.  Top and bottom were easy.  I'm not sure they need to be in a specific position, other than the whole crossed leg thing...

Sometimes they can get a 'bottom up' shot, which is usually pretty clear.  Since they can move the wand around on the outside to change the view, it's an angle they can get on babies in a variety of positions (but not all).

My tech said that the picture was hard to get because the baby was breeched, but I don't see why that would have been a problem since most babies are probably that way.  I know DS was head down the entire time and it was very clear.
