3rd Trimester

How important is it to have baby's first appts exactly on time?

My hubby and I are planning to go back home for two weeks (across the country) May 4-19th. Our little girl is due March 12th. So, if she comes somewhat on time, we wouldn't be able to see her ped at exactly 2 months (it'd be a week or so late). Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks!

  • This is probably something best to ask you pediatrician.

  • Ours were never RIGHT on time.  You'd be fine.
  • I would ask the pedi since the 2 month appointment is when they start vaccines (if you are going to vaccinate).

    this is true...

my dh and i took our 2 month old daughter on her first airplane ride.  my pedi suggested doing the vaccines days early so she would have them before the plane.

  • What are you doing about daycare?  I know that our daycare requires all vaccines to be exactly on schedule, so it might be worth asking them too.
  • You would only be about a week late or early depending on birthdate, but I wouldn't think the week would make that much of a difference for the 2 month appointment.
