When does movement become restricted?

The babies are still moving a lot, but it's less noticeable lately. The doctor said that as they run out of room, they run out of space to move. It used to feel like a crazy kickboxing match in there, but now that's less frequent and I feel more rolling and shifting. I can't really do kick counts, because it's hard to tell who's kicking when.

I'm 30 wks & 5 days and have gained 37 lbs. Did any of you start to feel less, or different, movement towards the end - and when?

Thanks!

Re: When does movement become restricted?

  • all sounds perfectly normal.

it's hard when you can't tell who's moving.

i did go to L&D once to check on baby b... couldn't feel her.  but on u/s she was moving all over the place.

but always go with your gut.  sometimes you just need to see everything's fine.

  • I felt mine moving pretty consistently until about 4 days before my water broke.  Granted they weren't punching and kicking as much but it still happened pretty much every night when I went to lay down for bed.

  • I never notice a decrease in movement in my twins.

I think a lot of it had to do that I had one head down and one breech.

The one head down was always moving his feet - I could feel it under my breast all the time.

The breech baby I could feel it big time when he moved his head.  It hurt.

They were most active at night, and stayed that way until delivery at 38 weeks.

But if you have concerns, call the doc and see if you can get an u/s or a NST.
