Pill you stick under tongue for induction??

I've never heard of this. I was in shock at the time when he was explaining it because he had just told me that we were doing it today. I don't think he said the name though.  Doc wants to try this today at my induction, before the pitocin. Anyone have a clue? or an experience?

There is something herbal that you can put under your tongue that's supposed to help labor move along.  I don't know what it is, though, and it's not something that I think a doctor would suggest (given that it's herbal and not medical), though a midwife might. 

FWIW, cervixes can have lips.

my midwife had me use a homeopathic remedy called caulophyllum thalictroides to help bring on contrax. You put a few of the little tiny capsules under your tongue every 2 hours i think it was. FWIW, either that, stripping my membranes, (or a combo thereof + mother nature) put me into labor about 7 hours later.

My friend just had her baby yesterday and they did give her a pill to help her dialate.  She can't remember the name of it but that's what they told her it was for.  I have never heard of it being done until yesterday and she was delivered by an MD in a large city hospital.
