anyone use a baby sling?

Hello,  just wondered how many of you use a baby sling and if you would reccomend buying one?  Also,  what is the weight/size limit one them?   My son is only 2 months so i'd say im okay but i don't want to purchase one unless i'll get some use out of it.

Any reccomendations would be great, thanks!

    Hi! For the newborn stage I used the moby a lot (until around 5 months), and a ring sling. The ring sling was easy to use - but was only good for short, quick trips because it made my shoulder hurt. Now that my little one is older, the ergo is the best! It is so comfortable, easy to use and can be used until my little one is 40 lbs! You can actually use the ergo with a newborn too - if you buy a newborn insert.

    check out waddle and swaddle in Poughkeepsie... they will fit you and they even help you with wearing if you have difficulties.

    I used a baby bjorn and wished I had gotten a sling instead I tried a friends and it seemed so comfortable

    I consider myself pretty handy and I sewed a mei tai. I did however see something very similar to the mei tai in target made by infantino. I love wearing the mei tai, my daughter is almost 19lbs and it's still comfortable for me at 7 mos pregnant. You can wear it front and back. I made a moby also, but that's for the new one so I couldn't tell you how that one is yet.

    Great idea.  Ive been thinking of making one myself also just haven't seen a pattern for on yet.  Did you have a pattern or just make it up yourself?

    I see your in Port Jervis,  we'll im just down the road from you over here in Westbrookville  ;)

    so sorry... I'm not so good at this msg board thing! Yes I had a pattern for the mei tai. Link is:

     It took me a good 6 hours to make completely. I am on the bigger side so I made the straps longer. I was able to carry my daughter in it till I was almost 8 mos pregnant too... VERY comfortable!

    Yes, we are neighbors! I"m actually in Huguenot, so even just a little closer. Have you lived in the area long?
