Babies on the Brain

Can I just say one thing....

If someone I knew added an entire album of pictures from my wedding to their facebook page I'd definitely give them the side eye and ask them to take it down.

I just noticed a person on my facebook has 3 albums of 3 weddings she has attended. Am I the only one that finds that just a bit creepy? You aren't friends with everyone that person is friends with so you don't even know who is looking at picture after picture of you. Why do people do this? I don't even add a single picture of someone else other than DH and I to my facebook page, I couldn't even imagine adding an entire album of someone else.

Re: Can I just say one thing....

  • Uhhhh....I loved all the pictures my friends posted of my wedding. All of my close friends had an album dedicated to it. They actually had a race on who can post it first. It doesn't seem weird to me at ALL.

  • I think this is an iffy situation.

I took nearly a thousand pictures of my mom and her boyfriend back in November and uploaded them to my facebook page because I took them.  But I have a nice camera and I tagged them in every one of them and changed the settings so their friends could see all of the pictures.

But just a little point and shoot camera taking a bunch of random pictures at someone's wedding?  Weird.

  • a ton of my friends do this-I don't think they consider it a privacy thing, just a hey, I'm sharing the great time I had. You can untag yourself or ask them to make the album more private if they have some of you, but I wouldn't think twice about it.

  • My friends has pictures of my wedding up less than 24 hours after it was over.  I love it--gave me something to look at before I got the photos back form my photographer.  Making albums of events is the norm in our group of friends

  • I can understand a couple pictures here and there of random friends at a party or whatever, but an entire album dedicated to 2 people who aren't even family... I find that creepy, just my opinion I guess.

I guess I'm just that kind of person that likes to keep things private. I get all skeeved out when my personal stuff is on other people's facebook page that's all.

  • Maybe they asked her to post them?  Or maybe she received permission?
  • My friends put up albums from my wedding. Its just something that we do, their the same people that put up a ton of pictures from formals and such. I liked it.

  • I agree with Isha, but we always are sure to make those albums available only to our friends.  I try to only post pictures with people that I know in them, also.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this at all. By this reason, I shouldn't add pics of my family because not everyone knows them, or pics of my DH because not everyone is friends with him. What you are describing is the norm on FB, not the minority.

The album is not for someone to look at obsessively by themselves. It is to be shared for the 2 people who's wedding it was. Like me and PP's said, I counted on the pics people posted to tide me over until the photog gave me stuff, and I saved and printed every single one. It's FB--a social networking site. If you don't want to socially network, then only be friends with your close friends.

This exactly. If my friend hadn't done this, I would have waited two weeks to see any pics.

  • If the majority of fb agreed with you there would be no such thing as photo tagging. I with Isha that I totally do not understand what you're saying at all.
