Infertility

what do you count as the first day of your period, spotting, light bleeding...

Hi,

I have a question about when to count you period as CD1. Ok I got up today and I was spotting dark brown and it was on the toilet paper too. Should I consider this CD1 or should I wait until I see red flow? Which will prob be Friday. I know I should know this we have only been ttc for about 4 yrs maybe a little more than 4.

But I was curious as what you ladies count as CD1.

Thanks,

Deb

An intro post to come some too.

Re: what do you count as the first day of your period, spotting, light bleeding...

  • According to my RE: CD1 is the first day of "consistent, red flow" not brown not pink. He does not put a time on it like some others like "before noon"

  • For my RE CD1 is the first day of bright red flow. It has to be enough that you need a pad. Spotting doesn't count. Some REs have rules about the time of day, but for mine as long as it's before midnight and you're awake to see it that day counts as CD1.

  • My RE agrees with the others.
  • CD1 = first day of consistent red flow. Spotting does not count in terms of an infertility cycle.
  • Thanks everyone, it's been a while since we have had a new RE...I should have asked. I feel dumb asking because I should have known. But a refresher is always great. Thanks.

    I also posted my intro.

    Thanks,

  • At my RE they consider CD1 "full flow before midnight."
