Ultrasound question

I know I'm early on this board but I have a question.

My doctor wants to do an ultrasound at 16 weeks to check my cervix.  I had a leep procedure done awhile ago and he wants to make sure my cervix is in good shape for later down the road.  Did anyone else have this done and is it an internal ultrasound?

I had monthly U/S with DS (not for Leep, though, sorry) but all of them after about 10 weeks were external.

It will most likely be external.

 But you better get used to someone feeling down there, when you get closer to full term, doc will check on things internally.
