Tell me about the B'more aquarium

DH and I are thinking about taking DS on Sunday so we can get out of the house.  I know you can't take strollers in, but how heavy duty are the backpack carriers they rent?  We're thinking of buying the tickets online so we know what time is available, but what else do you recommend doing around the area?  It's still supposed to be pretty chilly this weekend.

TIA!

Re: Tell me about the B'more aquarium

  • The Science Center has a great children's discovery place on the top floor. Also, Port Discovery is a great place for kids (maybe not for a one year old though...)

  • The aquarium is awesome.  I went there the morning of my bachlorette party (just for a fun girls day w/ my MOH) & I took DH there for his B-day (he was jealous I went without him, lol!).

I'm pregnant with our first so I can't say how the backpacks are that they rent.  I have seen a lot of people either carrying their young children or who have some type of carrier for them (rented or their own, I'm not sure).

Other things in the area (walking distance): Science Center, Harbor Place shopping & eating, World Trade Center (not always open though), USS Constellation tour.

  • Hi, I actually work at the aquarium. The backpacks we rent are pretty heavy duty they are Kelty Kids brand. Also if you are going to purchase your tickets online you might be able to use the code SNOW2010 to get a discount. Hope you enjoy your visit.
  • Thanks ladies!  I did try the code, but it said it didn't apply to any items in my cart.  Oh well!  We'll be there tomorrow morning, and I'm really looking forward to it!
