That's my sons name and that is how we spell it. However most people try and spell it with two L's. I totaly thought we were giving him an easy to spell name and I have to spell it every time. Although my other son is John and I have to spell that also:)
From what I can remember, one L is the gaelic spelling and two is the scottish. Plus J&K spelled it with two, and I didn't want to be like them.
LOL Jodi! I had DS say the name this morning just so I could make sure it didn't come out of his mouth as coal-in. Thank god it didnt, and it's super cute sounding when he says "baby colin."
Guess I could spell it "Cawlin"... LMAO- ew, that looks a mess.
Re: Boys name- Colin?
that's my nephew's name and that's how he spells it.
You know it has my vote : )
I believe this way Collin is the Scottish version perhaps. I seem to remember that when we were picking it.
This, and it was my fave name for my DS but DH didn't love it.
Colin looks like it should be pronounced coal-in....as in the sphincter (I know, I know, it's not the sphincter but that's SUCH a fun word to say!)
Anyway, I prefer Collin.

Lovely name and it fits my kiddo to a T!
That's the usual spelling. I've seen Collin, but I thought it was just someone who didn't know how to spell the name.

All of this
Yep. Agreed!
I agree with this too. Maybe if I didn't know who Colin Powell was I would like the one L spelling.
