2nd Trimester

Spotting @ almost 24 weeks

I just went to the bathroom & noticed some blood in my panties & it was light pink when I wiped.  I'm not having any cramping & have felt LO move a few times already this morning.

We have not had sex for a couple days so that's not it either.

The dr's office doesn't open for another hour so.  My next scheduled appt is early Monday morning.

I've only spotted once before at 17 weeks & it was only a few drops of blood.  The dr told me to take it easy & come in if it got worse or if I started cramping.  Everything was fine & I didn't need to go in.

WWYD?

Re: Spotting @ almost 24 weeks

  • I spotted on and off with dd and when I did it was normally because I had been doing to much the day before or that day. However I always called in and went and saw my dr to make sure everything was ok. I would atleast call and let them know and take it easy today!

  • I'd call your OB and see what they suggest!

  • If it doesn't get any heavier as you are waiting for the office to open, I would just wait. Lie down and put your feet up. IF it does get heavier within the hour, you may want to just head to the ER for safe measures. Good luck!! Hugs and prayers.

  • It doesn't hurt to call.  I spotted at 24w and called my Dr that morning (before they opened).  He sent me to L&D just to get checked out.  Everything was fine, but I liked the reassurance of knowing that the spotting didn't automatically mean that something is wrong.

I have spotted once since then.  It's definitely linked to doing too much either that day or the day before.

  • The office is open now & I just got off the phone with the dr. They said it's more than likely not a cause for concern & only come in if it gets worse, I start cramping or it lasts for 24 hrs. Now, to try & relax.
