Just curious. Had an OB appt yesterday and the Dr was freaking out and asking me a million questions thinking I was dieting or something-which I am in no way doing. She gave me the "average" weight gain for this time, and I find it very hard to believe.I didn't gain an excessive amount with my son, so I felt like I was right on track. I'm overweight to begin with, and I think when I'm pregnant, I end up eating better, so I'm guessing that's why?? But she freaked me out a little being so overly concerned. Just curious how much others have gained at this point though. Thanks!
Re: 16ish weekers-how much have you gained?
How much have you gained?
I told myself I was going to do better this time, but so far I've gained about 1 lb/week, same as with DD.
With her I was up 16 lbs at 16 weeks. (Average weight to begin with)
With this baby I was up ~14 lbs at 16 weeks. (Started 10 lbs heavier but still average weight.)

See! In total I've gained 3lbs and she was trying to tell me that the average for this stage is between 15-20lbs!! I thought that was ridiculously high, but then she got so overly concerned, that I started to second guess myself. At my second appt I had lost 4lbs due to morning sickness, then gained it all back, and then at this one I've lost one (no idea why). I wasn't concerned, but like I said, her freaking out MADE me concerned! And like I said, I'm overweight to begin with, and am eating better, so I thought this was normal. Thanks ladies, I just wanted a rough ballpark of what everyone was gaining to see if I was completely off base.
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
Your 3 lbs sounds a lot healthier than my 16 lbs! I think her average is high considering most docs recommend 30-35 lbs starting out at a normal weight. If you really are overweight, I thought the total weight gain recommendation was 15 lbs. Sounds like you're doing great.

My BFP Chart
Not sure where your doc got that number. Avg weight gain for the whole pregnancy can be 25 - 40 pounds if you are "normal" weight to begin. If you are overweight it is much less.
My cousin is due next month and she's had a ton of morning sickness but was overweight to begin with has gained maybe 7 pounds this entire pregnancy and her doc is cool with it.
