DH and I just had a list of names that we both liked, we both went through and vetoed eachother's list WAY down and ended up with Sophia, Victoria, and Elizabeth. We just decided that Victoria sounds best. (Victoria started off on DH's list, I honestly never thought it would be a name he liked because he usually goes for Sarah, Elizabeth, Jenny, etc)
We were helping my SIL and bro come up with a name for their little boy (who's now 3 months old) and my DH was playing with their magnetic letters on the fridge. He wasn't really helping, but after the discussion I looked at the fridge and it had the name Mason on it. I asked him if that was a name he liked, it was, I liked it too, so we called "dibbs" on it ;-) The middle name was the tough part- but we ended up going with Samuel which is a shortened version of his mother's maiden name.

We went through some list online of like 1000 names and wrote down the ones we liked, then narrowed it down from there. We are down to 3 possibilities now, but definitely have a front runner, which happens to be my favorite!
Since I can remember I've always loved the name Milla for a girl (don't know why or how I came up with it..) and luckily DH also likes it. When we checked the different meanings for her name, it made us like it even more (German: Industrious / French: free-born / Italian: virginal / Latin: noble / Spiritual meaning: devoted to God). He's going to chose the middle name though, but he's narrowed it down to Shanae or Simone, which I also happen to like very much, so we're sorted!
Thank goodness it's not a boy, because we couldn't agree on one single name! )
We just keep our ears open until we hear something we like. We're having another girl, and our possible list has totally reset. Somehow it just doesn't seem to feel right to us to use a name we didn't like as much as DD's for this one! Luckily we have a handful we like, but haven't come to a conclusion yet.
Right after we got married DH started a job at a high school and I was subbing there, so we saw each other often. I think I was helping him with attendance or something and I saw one of his students' names and I thought it was really pretty and different. So I asked if he liked it and he did. So I looked up what it meant and then we LOVED it. That was over 3 years ago and now we're going to use it! The mn is going to be my mn because we both like that name too.
Before we had our big ultrasound we had picked Calista Esme if it were to be a girl, but as soon as we found out she is a girl Calista just didn't feel right.
I loved the name Esme(close friend's name) and was solid on that so we made that the first name insted.
The middle name we picked because we think it sounds good with Esme. So she will be Esme Delilah.
We chose names so long ago, I can barely remember how we came up with them. I think we heard a DMB song, Grace is Gone, and I said how much I like the name Grace. DH liked it too... so that became our #1 girl choice... with Alycia being the middle name (after his mom).
If it was going to be a boy, we both loved the name Christian... and Robert as the middle name (after my grandfather). I don't think the first names came anywhere but just from us discussing it and agreeing on it It was actually a pretty easy process.
I have no idea. I heard Molly somewhere and fell in love with it. With Brooke, our girl's name was Audrey Grace but the ILs ran it into the ground. She came out and we just couldn't do it so DH picked Brooke.
We went through a ton of names on lots of Baby Name iPhone apps and picked out our favorites. The name we finally settled on we both loved as soon as we found it. We wanted something less common since we have a very common last name.
If we have a boy this time he will use our boy name we chose with DD. For a girl we are considering the same names we considered with DD. If it's a girl she will most likely be the name that was second choice for DD.
We read and reread baby name books until we could finally find a name we both loved! For the middle name we always joked about naming a son Wyatt bc we're both obsessed with the movie Tombstone. Turns out that was one of few middle names we agreed on too - So no one tell my son he was named after a gun slinger/pimp haha DH loves Val Kilmer's role as Doc Holiday- I put my foot down when it came to "doc" as a middle name

With DS, we had 2 names picked out for each gender prior to getting pg (we had been TTC for 3 years!) and somehow Caden stuck. His middle name literally came to me in a dream, and it turns out it is a family name on my side (Dominic, Mother's side is Italian).
With this LO, I thought for sure we'd stick with the remaining names we had already chosen (for boy - Keegan, for girls - Kylie and Cora) but for some reason we couldn't stick with them and changed the girls names to Ariana and Juliana... Ariana Michelle has stuck for a girl, and we have no CLUE for a boy! Hopefully the big U/S reveals a girl, or we're in trouble! LOL

We got a baby name book after we found out the sex and I went through with an orange highlighter and highlighted names i like, DH went through with a blue highlighter, and we chose from the ones we both like.

With DS, we ended up with the only boy name (out of thousands) that DH didn't hate. The only one.
We're screwed if this one is a boy!

It worked well for us!
