A few nights LO was sleeping 7-9 hours. They were the wrong hours, but at least it gave me hope.
Now, he won't even go four hours at night. He's 12 weeks. OMG. I'm SO exhausted. DH helps some but he's one of those who, by the time you wake him up and tell him to feed LO, you could practically be finished.
So, he was up at 2 and again at 5 this morning. Sometimes it takes an hour for me to fall back to sleep.
I know it's only 12 weeks, but I was back to my pre-pg weight and shape (and clothes) by now the first time, and this time I've still got ten pounds (and two pants sizes) to go. I'm just too exhausted to work out.
If it seemed that it were getting better, I'd have more hope.
Thanks for "listening."
Re: Seriously, when does it get better?
((hugs))
I am so sorry! I am still on my first but she isn't the world's best sleeper so I am in a similar sleep deprived state.
I don't think there is much advice I can offer but I am happy you were able to vent and let off some steam at least.
My baby is two!!! Baby girl 9/17/09
My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11
DD didn't STTN until 10 months old.
Good luck.
DD didn't STTN till 11.5 months, and that only lasted a couple months, then we moved twice, and she was up a few times a night. Recently we re-implemented CIO and she's STTN again. We co-slept after I went back to work and that helped me get more sleep - but it was a hard habit to break when we wanted her to go back to her crib.
Oh and DH never took a night feeding because I was nursing.
Even if it doesn't get "better" in terms of LO sleeping, it will get easier for you - you'll just get used to getting less sleep.
I can sooo relate to this today. My DD2 is getting up every couple hours again - I think teething - and I am SO tired. DD1 is sleeping through the night at least...I have no idea what to do either, I feel she is too little for CIO and not sure what else to try. Like you, I'm nursing so DH isn't much help either (although I can't imagine I should be feeding her every 2 hours but I don't know how else to make her go back to sleep).
As for the weight, same boat too. I lost it all and then some quickly with DD1 so I was over-confident that the same would happen. Nope, still holding on to 8 pounds and man, those 8 pounds make me look lumpy.
I just keep my eye on the prize - one day we will have two kids that sleep through teh night and play together!
