BM and Formula ?? TMI

Anyone who uses Neosure and feeds little one BM ever notice there little one having a problem pooping.

Re: BM and Formula ?? TMI

  • We had this happen once, and the pedi said it was probably due to cold weather.

Never fail trick- get a warm wet washcloth, cross LO's legs and pull up to stomach, and place the washcloth on LO's bum. It works right away, every time!

  • Hmm really wow cool I'm gonna try that next time if it happens we were just lifting her legs and rubbing her belly and it started to come out. Now shes happy and sleeping.

  • We have been on neosure since the NICU, when this got to be a problem, we added juice to DD diet, no more than 2oz a day, now maybe 4-6 (GI doc limits due to reflux) but that usually keeps things moving. If that doesn't work we give her a dose of miralax.
  • formula is harder for the babies to digest, so it slows down the pooping process.. formula babies can sometimes have constipation issues. also, around a month or so babies (bm or formula) will slow down their pooping.. so it could be an age thing.

the juice thing can be good.. but my sister always used glycerin suppositories... they're completely benign (if you're worried about taking up high cal space with juice instead of formula or bm.) the warm rag and raising the legs is great!
