That is actually unprocessed bile.  Sarah had this when she had a stomach virus before.  Bile aids in digestion, and as it's broken down it contributes to the brown color of poop.  If they haven't eaten much, the bile passes.

That's the exact reason why I try to stay away from grape stuff for Libby...her poop is always some sort of bluish color afterwards...*yuck*

thanks Geek, I'm keeping that blue poop fact in my back pocket but this turquoise poop was totally grape jello with a side of crayon chomping.

Crayons and Play-Doh both come out as bright as they go in.  Unfortunately, we know this from experience.
