My BFF is preg with twins (boy and girl). In addition to purchasing something from her registry, I would also like to give a personalized gift (or two or three). Which "twin-like" gifts did you love? despise? TIA!
you could do something with their names, or matching outfits. but i would really stick to the registry. i got a bunch of stuff that i didnt want or need and ended up never using.
batteries of all sizes - seriously- if you are friendly with the dad it's fun to give that gift to him you will go through so many batteries- it's amazing how every baby gadget needs them! We buy in bulk at coscto all the time.
matching clothes are fun- but it's so hard to know what size they'll need in what season - we had so many clothes we were given they never got to wear b/c they were much bigger than anyone expected so a lot of the clothing gifts were off season wise with size. One of my boys is also a size bigger than the other... something most don't expect- but is common.
i love Trumpette socks - you could get a pack of the boy ones and girl ones- they look like sneakers and mary janes.
A friend of my dad's who had an embroidery machine got some cloth diapers (to use as burp cloths) and embroidered my girls' names on them. It makes it SO easy to remember whose cloth is whose! Personalized blankets are really nice too and I use a ton of blankets for when they are playing on the floor, tummy time etc. (Note the practicality of the gifts...)
I agree with batteries - especially rechargeables (you can buy them at costco that come with the charger)...it will save them money!
We got these really nice silk blankets (pink and blue) and the babies just love them. I would have never bought them for myself but now I am glad we have them.

I would've liked personalized bibs, hooded towels (they sell these at Pottery Barn), or thick burp cloths.
I got someone (not a twin mom) personalized burp cloths from etsy and they were a huge hit.
On the flip side, I got more clothes and blankets than I know what to do with!
