Anyone having post partum hair loss issues....

...and taking Biotin for it?  I started taking it a few days ago in hopes of it stopping the hair loss.  I cannot take it.  It grows back, but I cannot handle the loss anymore.  It's irritating and gross, I look stringy and un-groomed.

Yes, my hair is falling out in clumps...daily...I didn't know there was anything you could do about it...

I'm not sure I would consider that post partum hair loss...you've been pp for quite some time.  Cohen is 8 months almost, and mine has slowed down significantly in the last month.

I would worry there was some other kind of deficinency at this point.  But I know nothing about hair loss, so I guess I'm not much help.  Sorry!

That seems way too long for it to be PG related. I am almost 4 months out & still in the thick of it. It sucks. I shed like a damn golden retriever!

I attributed mine to a side effect of the Mirena.  My hair decided to start falling out when DD was about 7-8 months old.  And when I say "falling out" I mean serious hugeass clumps of hair coming out with each shower AND after my shower when I comb my hair out.  It was serious...my once thick hair became patchy around my hairline.  I take Biotin now in addition to about six hundred other vitamins to try to stop it.  It's getting better but is still falling out.  I keep saying I'm going to have the Mirena removed to see if it resolves itself, but I've yet to make the appt. and have it removed.  My OB seems to think it can't possibly be a side effect of the Mirena.  She drew labs to check my thyroid and of course that came back normal.
