Who did you see?

When you decided to talk to someone about PPD who did you go to? Your primary physician or your OB?

My OB - I asked for an appt. with him about 3 months PP, I think.

I ended up seeking a psychologist myself. He also referred me to a psychiratrist.

My OB's office set up an appointment with their staff psychiatrist.  Becasue I have ADD and need med management for that, I already had my own psychiatrist. . . so, at one point, I was seeing two shrinks (only one was prescribing meds).

Because of my ADD (and subsequent depression), I have done the therapy route and have found that when I am chemically balanced, I am fine and don't need talk therapy.  So, I will continue to take meds for my ADD and PPD.

OB... they have a PPD specialist on staff which is who I saw. She referred me to a psychologist who I still see. The psychologist also referred me to a psychiatrist for meds.

Def call your OB. I was already in therapy when I had my son so my therapist worked with my OB. Your OB should be able to guide you as far as therapy and/or med. GL I am here if you need me.
